A Word From the Worshipful Master

As the third quarter of 2016 draws to a close, I cannot help but feel thankful that I am surrounded by such a fine group of men and Brothers.  Without the help that you have provided during what is the busiest time of our year, our annual fundraisers would not have been the successes that they were.  Thanks to each and every one of you for the support that you have given Inman Lodge!  It warms my heart to know that this Lodge is in the best of hands, and that they will carry us forward into the new year and beyond.  In Masonry we are taught that every edifice must have a strong foundation, and I am convinced that Inman’s foundation is solid and true.

Fraternally,

Curt Lynn Lowe

Worshipful Master

2016 Grandmaster's Bowling Tournament

All 36 lanes were full on August 22, 2016, at Paradise Lanes for the 2016 Annual Grandmaster’s Bowling Tournament hosted by the AFM Club of Spartanburg.  MWB William B. Rogers was in attendance, and the competition was heated!  Inman Lodge’s team played two games for the trophies on hand, but were unsuccessful.  Inman’s OES Chapter #169, however, came away with the Lowest Team Score Trophy!  It was a great night and for a good cause.

2016 Inspirational Meeting

The 19th, 20th & 21st Districts Inspirational Meeting was held on September 22, 2016 at Cannon’s Campground United Methodist Church.  Many of the Brethren and their families attended, with Chesnee Lodge #282 bringing in 29 Brethren and guests.  For their outstanding numbers, Chesnee Lodge was presented with the Traveling Bible and the Traveling Gavel.  Many awards and certificates were given out by the AFM Club of Spartanburg, and WB Wayne Bradley presented each Lodge with a hand-made wooden table setting with the 2016 Inspirational Meeting logo on it.  Wrapping up the evening was RWB Acy Flora, PDDGM, who gave a short lecture as the keynote speaker for the evening.

Harvest Day 2016

Barbeque was on the menu for Inman Lodge’s Annual Barbeque Sale held at Harvest Day on September 24th.  Many new and returning customers lined up at the Lodge’s door for a taste of that famous Pinker BBQ that has made our Harvest Day fundraiser a success.  Starting at 9:30 AM, a steady stream of customers came in for the wonderful food (as well as the air conditioning) until around 3 PM as Harvest Day began to wind down.  Inman Lodge is lucky to have such a solid foundation of volunteers willing to work to make our Lodge the best in the world!

Golf Tournament 2016

Inman Lodge’s 30th Annual Charles Heatherly Memorial Golf Tournament, held on August 27th, was another successful outing!  A shotgun start at 8 AM brought 34 teams out to Village Greens for 18 holes of competition and fun, in spite of a 93 degree high for the day.  A barbeque meal, cooked on site, was served to the teams as they came in from their final hole.  The team of Mainstay Fuel Alternatives came in for the second year in a row as the best team, overall.  Thanks to the many volunteers that helped make our annual golf tournament as great as it was.

Grand Lodge 2016

The Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina held their annual communication April 28th & 29th at the Embassy Suites of Greenville, SC.  Over one thousand Masons were said to be in attendance for this event which Most Worshipful Brother William B. Rogers presided.  Grand Lodge business was conducted on Thursday, with the Grand Master’s Banquet being held that evening, where the Frederick Dalcho and Albert Gallatin Mackey awards were presented by the Grand Master.  On Friday, Inman Lodge had the privilege to present one of twelve George Washington portraits that were given out.  Inman’s portrait was presented to The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the State of Ohio, with Most Worshipful Brother Robert Rill in acceptance.  MWB Rill was excited to receive the portrait, and as a token of thanks presented Inman Lodge with a signed bobble head doll of himself, which he explained was being sold in his Grand Jurisdiction as a fund raiser.  Later, Inman Lodge had the honor of having WB Paul McWilliams being appointed as Senior Grand Deacon for 2016.  WB Paul was also named ambassador to Macedonia, as well as RWB Bruce Chennery being named ambassador to Santander, Colombia
